The Washington College Recreation Department teams up with student affairs, the waterfront, and student clubs to provide an opportunity to experience the outdoors in numerous ways. Locally, Chestertown and the Eastern Shore provide an array of recreational activities through its diverse habitats and landscape. Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and boating are all at the students fingertips through the waterfront.
Students also have the liberty to get away for the weekend on one of the Recreation departments overnight or day trip excursions. Whether it is camping, skiing, whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking, or cycling students can get away from the stressors of studies and take a moment to enjoy Mother Nature!

The Washington College community is privileged to have access to facilities that are unique and exciting to a college. The College boathouse offers watercraft use such as single and double person kayaks and canoes with all of the accessories. Lelia Hynson Pavilion provides a peaceful riverfront stage for events, activities, or just relaxing. Next to the boathouse is Wilmer Park, and this includes a large grassy, waterfront space great for Frisbee, bocce ball, sunbathing, and various outdoor games/activities.
