Hodson Dining Hall Opening August 2009

Over the summer of 2008, construction will begin on a new two-story structure housing dining facilities and an expansive student center with an open performance area, a game room and an office suite for student activities and student government. To fast-track this project, and allow for the demolition of the 1965-era addition to Hodson Hall without disrupting meal services, a temporary dining pavilion will be ready by May 15.

Gibson Performing Arts Center Opening Fall 2009

The renovated and expanded Gibson Performing Arts Center will feature a smaller and more intimate Tawes Theater along with two new performance spaces—a 200 seat recital hall and a 150-seat experimental theater—plus an art gallery, classrooms, and faculty offices for music and drama. The front façade, a beautiful glass lobby overlooking Martha Washington Square, will provide a dramatic backdrop for impromptu outdoor performances.
